Mary Jo Gray, age 84, of Malvern, AR, passed away December 28, 2023, in Springfield, MO. She was born on September 11, 1939, in Malvern, AR, the daughter of Howard and Jennie Sesser Rucker. She was a homemaker and the co-owner of Donaldson Hardware with her husband. Mary Jo was also a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing and canning.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waymon Gray; daughter Mary Elaine Gray; brothers, Jerry Don Rucker and Joel Lynn Rucker.

Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Melinda Purvis (Jason) of Little Rock, Myra Hughes (Ricky) of Donaldson, Pam Bodine (Norman) of Nixa, MO, and Rhonda Hebert (Mark) of Maurice, LA, brother, Harold Rucker (Sonja) of Malvern; aunt, Neva Sullivan of Malvern; grandchildren, Janna Hughes of Garland, TX, Bradley Hughes (Jill) of Donaldson, Kristin Crigler (Marcus) of Ozark, MO, Lauren Maggi (Tyler) of Nixa, MO, Landon Abernathy of Sherwood, Sean Abernathy of Conway, and Blake Abernathy of Benton; 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec 30th from 10 – 11 am with Funeral Services starting at 11 am at Regency Funeral Home.

Burial to follow at Ouachita Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bradley Hughes, Landon Abernathy, Sean Abernathy, Blake Abernathy, Marcus Crigler, and Tyler Maggi.

Honorary pallbearers are her son in – laws, Dr. Ricky Hughes, Norman Bodine, Mark Hebert, Jason Purvis, and Marvin McDaniel.
