Mary Elizabeth Overton was called to her heavenly home on May 11, 2022.  She passed in her home peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones.  Mary was preceded in death by her youngest son, Scott Overton; parents, Rupert and Ella Bennett; brothers, Bobby Bennett, Clarence Bennett, Harold Bennett, Virgil Bennett and Cletis Bennett and her sister, Ruthie Erwin.

Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Mary knows that she touched so many lives with her generous and gentle nature.  Mary and Charles' house has always been overflowing with family and friends and she wouldn't have had it any other way.  Her family was the most important thing in the world to Mary.  She was a member of Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church and loved her church family as well.

Mary leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Charles Overton, Sr.; sons, Chuck Overton (Michele) and David Todd Overton (Angel); grandchildren, Laura Paul (B.J.), Kyle Overton (Megan), Jeremy Overton (Emily), Darien Overton, Julia Overton, John Overton, Katelynn Overton, Eric Overton, Kyle Burkett (Bianca) and Corina Burkett; great grandchildren, Colby Harper, Carson Paul, Riley Paul, Kole Overton, Presley Overton, Kambry Overton, Hudson Overton, Hunter French, Gabriela Ortega, Aidin Longbottom, Kenton Wells, Aria Burkett and Elija Nobles.  Mary is also leaving behind her two loving sisters, Delores Overton and Patricia Bennett and many other loved ones and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 11:00am at Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Shaun Holland and Brother Mike Bennett officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9:00am.  Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kyle Overton, Jeremy Overton, B.J. Paul, Bryan Overton, Danny Bennett and Darien Overton.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Genesis Cancer Center.
