Obituary

Maurine Green Keeney, age 86, of Malvern, AR, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1938, in Malvern, AR, the daughter of Wallace and Lois Hardin Green. On July 3, 1955, Maurine married the love of her life, Charles Keeney and shortly after they opened Keeney's Food Market, that proudly served the community of Malvern for 68 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Malvern, since she was 5 years old, where she was the pianist and organist for more than 40 years, playing for the children's chapel and teaching children's church. Maurine was also a chair member of the Hot Spring County Fair Queen and enjoyed working at her store, traveling to Branson, and loved flowers and birds. She never met a stranger and gave of herself to anyone who needed it. Her heart was full of love for everyone.

Maurine is preceded in death by her parents; son, Kirby Jack Keeney; grandson, Zack Coates; and brother, Bill Green.

Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 68 years, Charles Keeney; sons, Doug Keeney (Melissa) of Searcy, and Kyle Keeney (Judith) of Malvern; daughter, Kristi Dean (Michael) of North Little Rock; sister, Mary Gibbs of Malvern; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Feb. 20th from 5-7pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 21st at 2pm, at Second Baptist Church in Malvern, with Bro. Seth Glidwell, Bro. Terry Parrish, and Bro. Joey McDermott officiating. Burial to follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Keeney, Rory Moore, Kirby Keeney, Derek Shaffer, Andrew Layrock, Seth Coates, Hayden Harrison, Seth Glidwell and Landon Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Baptist Church (210 W. Mill St. Malvern, AR 72104).
