Michele Glover, born September 15, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, surrounded by her children Valerie Fortner and David Glover in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Michele earned both her bachelor of arts and master's degrees in English from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. While at the University, Michele met her husband of 51 years, David M. "Mac" Glover at the Baptist Student Union.  She shared a lifelong devotion to her church and her Christian faith with Mac.  Michele followed Mac to his hometown of Malvern, Arkansas where he practiced law while she oversaw their children's education.  Michele was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she devoted long hours and developed many friendships. Michele invested in her devotions, such as spearheading the creation and management of a preschool program at First Baptist Church, gardening and her children's educations. In 1999, Michele chaired the Hot Spring County Millennial Commission and was integral in obtaining the state and federal funding that created Malvern's Ouachita Whitewater Park, originally named Glover Landing.

In the days leading up to her passing, she and her children reflected gratefully, even if not so at the time, on attending summer art classes in Little Rock at the Arkansas Arts Center; summer laureate programs at UALR; Sunday afternoons at Robinson Auditorium to attend the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and innumerable other cultural exposures.  Michele's other great love of her life were her pets. At last count, she and Mac had spoiled six dogs, seven cats, several goldfish, two guinea pigs, and a crab named Gandolph.

She is preceded in death by her parents L.R. & Flora Mae McCright and by her husband Mac Glover.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren, brother Reggie and sister-in-law Janie.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, August 18th at 2 pm, at Shadowlawn Cemetery with Bro. Lynn Headley officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are her Faith Sunday School Class members, Sam and Ann Wright, Skip and Jennifer Hamner, Jack and Pat McCoy, Ray and Mockie Abramson, Fred and Mona Smith, Sue Jones and her Palm St. Neighbors.

Memorials may be made to the Malvern-Hot Spring Co. Library or to the Malvern Animal Shelter.
