Patricia Ann "Patsy" Young (Cherry), lovingly known as Patsy to most, and as Mom and Mamaw to those who cherished her most, passed away peacefully at her home on June 28, 2026, at the age of 83.  She was born on December 28, 1942, in Snowball, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, to Joby Cherry and Estha Lee Cherry.

Patsy lived a life centered on faith, family, kindness, and unconditional love.  Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her knew she was one of the kindest people you could ever meet.  She never had a bad word to say about anyone and treated everyone with warmth, compassion, and grace.  Her gentle spirit and caring heart touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

Family was the center of Patsy's world.  She loved nothing more than having everyone gathered around the table, laughing together and playing games of Blitz.  She was known for her competitive spirit at the card table and somehow always seemed to come out the winner, happily taking everyone's money while creating memories her family will cherish forever.

One of Patsy's greatest joys was the annual Cherry/Ford Family Reunion held each June at Tyler Bend on the Buffalo River.  For more than 40 years, family gathered there to fellowship, swim, float the river, share meals, and make memories together.  It became a treasured family tradition that continues today, as the younger generations proudly carry it on in her honor – a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness that she helped create.

Patsy married Roy Lee Wilson, and together they welcomed four children who became the pride and joy of her life.  She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Virginia Burnett; Elbert Wilson; Judy Wilson; and Tammy Lea and her husband, Steve.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jennifer Farrell and her husband, Justin; Grady Wayne Lewallen; Ashlee Haller; Tory Horner and her husband, Zack; Valen Burnett; and Stephanie Lea.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly:  Allison Wood and her husband, Logan; Amber Kyzer and her husband, Evan; Josh Haller; Aiden Farrell; Alec Booher; Avery Booher; Destiny Downum and her husband, Seth; and Gracy McElfish and her husband, Garrett.

She is also survived by her beloved sister, Frankie Schoo and her husband, Gary, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Estha Lee Cherry and Joby Cherry; her beloved grandson, Bubba Wilson; her brothers, Sherman Cherry and his wife, Michiko; Dwayne Cherry and his wife Vita; Dale Cherry and his wife, Airmae; and Brian Dean Cherry; and her sisters, Rena Bailey and her husband Jim; Doris McElroy; Phyllis Rankin; and Deborah Sue Cherry.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing the love Patsy gave so freely will continue to live on through every life she touched.  Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten.  We will forever remember her smile, the laughter shared around the Blitz table, and the treasured memories made each June along the Buffalo River.  Her legacy lives on in every family gathering, every story told, every game of Blitz, and every Cherry/Ford reunion.  She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 3, at 11:00 AM, at Regency Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service.  Burial to follow at Fairplay Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Josh Haller, Patrick Thomas, Timmy Dammann, Terry Dammann, Justin Farrell, and Lee Rone.
