Patrick Dewayne Smith entered from labor to reward on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 50. He was born in Malvern, AR on February 2, 1976, to the late Eddie C. and Octavia (Robinson) Smith. Patrick was the baby that his siblings begged for. He grew up on the farm alongside his siblings with a father who taught him about the bible and country-style living. Patrick learned everything he could about how to tend to a farm and live off the land. As he grew into his teenage years his athletic abilities became evident. Despite being raised in a Pentecostal home, with a little persuasion, he was allowed to join the football and basketball teams where he was impeccable both on the field and on the court. His parents proudly supported him and the Malvern Leopards as they won the AAA State Football Championship in 1993. He graduated from Malvern High School in 1994 and was offered a scholarship to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College. He welcomed his first son in 1995 and returned home to provide for his family by becoming an industrial worker at Precision Industries where he worked his way up to becoming a supervisor. He worked at Precision Industries until the plant closed in 2007. He turned this unfortunate circumstance into an opportunity and returned to college. Patrick completed a Technical Certificate in Computer Repair from Ouachita Technical College. Patrick eventually got his dream job and was hired on at the Reynolds plant in Jones Mill where he worked until his health failed him.

Patrick had a love for the outdoors and was a master hunter and fisherman. He continued the legacy of the S& H2 hunting club which was started under his father's guidance and served as the President of the club until his health would not permit him to continue hunting. Patrick was always known for lending a hand to his family and friends. He could fix anything by using what he had around the house. He was the person who could always turn a frown into a smile and eventually lead to belly laughs. He loved his family and his church, Changing Lives Ministries. He was a deacon and sang with the Men's group.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Savilla Smith; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Savilla (Norman) Smith; and maternal grandparents, W.M. and Mamie Lee Robinson.

Patrick is survived by his sons, Patrick of Hot Springs and Darien Smith of Malvern; daughter, Sierra Smith of Malvern; a brother, Everette Smith; sisters, Tracy Huell (Alex), Angela Taylor (Albert), and Vergina Smith all of Malvern; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 10:00 AM, at Deliverance Temple Institute COGIC, 400 N. Main St. in Malvern, with Pastor Alex Huell officiating.

Pallbearers are Patrick Smith, Darien Smith, Keith Luster, James Smith, Elvin Langston Jr., and Perry McCauley. Honorary Pallbearers are Phillip Troy Smith, Russell Smith, William Robinson Jr., Darrell Smith, and Tyrone Langston.
