Preston Prince, age 90, of Donaldson, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Quapaw Rehab in Hot Springs. He was born on December 5, 1933, in Donaldson, AR, the son of Will and Elisia Cates Prince. Preston worked for Entergy for 42 years until he retired. He loved to hunt but he especially loved hog hunting.

Preston is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 63 years, Barbara Prince; daughter Tena Prince; and son in-law, James Mattingly.

Left to cherish his memory, daughters, Pattie Mattingly and Machelle Thornton (Tylor) both of Bismarck; grandchildren, Brittney Shirley, Sara Thornton (Justin), Clayton Thornton (Haley), and Beau Mattingly (Alexis); great-grandchildren, Layla Shirley and Asa Thornton; sister, Helen Reagan of California; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 20th at 10am at Regency Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral service starting at 11am, with Alan Cansler officiating.

Burial to follow at Prairie Bayou Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Clayton Thornton, Justin Thornton, Rodney Williams, Beau Mattingly, Tylor Thornton, and Steve Ritter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Traywick, and Arkansas Hospice.

The family would like to give special thanks to T-Ann Prather, staff of Quapaw Nursing and Rehab, and Preston's caregivers, Katelyn and Antonio.
