Obituary

Raymond Wilson O'Neal, age 77, of Malvern, AR passed away on April 12, 2025 in his home. He was born on November 10, 1947 in Malvern, AR the son of Woodrow "Woody" and Emma Jean Gilbert O'Neal.

Raymond graduated from Malvern High School in 1965 and married his high school sweetheart, Sandra, in 1966. He served more than 25 years with the Arkansas National Guard and U.S. Army and retired as a major. He was also a brick mason for Reynolds Metal Company for more than 24 years where he retired. Raymond served on the Malvern Leopard football chain crew for 42 years before retiring at the end of the 2019 season and was an inductee of the Malvern Wall of Honor in 2022. He volunteered in the Malvern Senior Babe Ruth Baseball League as both a coach and manager. Raymond served as a deacon at Ouachita River Fellowship in which he helped to establish, and was an active volunteer for the Cup of Water food pantry. He loved hunting, carpentry, building deer stands, and was a member of the Fellowship Hunting Club.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tina O'Neal Farber; brothers, Harvey and Patrick O'Neal; sister, Wina Cranford; and brother in-law, John Hutter.

Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 58 years, Sandra Overturf O'Neal; daughter, Amber Childers (Will); sister, Linda Hutter of Royal; grandchildren, Brittney Elsea (Jordan), Ben O'Neal (Micaela), Corey Lindsey (Makayla), Alex Lindsey, Raechel Melanson (Sean), Megan Childers, and the Farber grandkids; great-grandchildren Tyler Johnson, Miley and Annaleigh Elsea, Ayden, Peyton, Grayson O'Neal, and Oakley Ray Lindsey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many "adopted" kids (you know who you are!)

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th from 9:30-10:30am at Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with the service following at 10:30am with Bro. Thomy Green officiating.

Memorials may be made to Ouachita River Fellowship-Cup of Water Ministry.
