Robert Allen
Beene
Feb 6, 1948 — Oct 17, 2024
Malvern
Robert Allen "Popeye" Beene rode west on October 17, 2024. He was born February 6,1948 in Gurdon, AR to the late Raymond and Avanell Herron Beene. He was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and Henderson State University with a Bachelors in Education and Masters in Counseling. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Malvern, AR, Hot Springs Harley Davidson Owners Group (H.O.G.) Chapter and Arkansas Cattlemen's Association.
Allen spent many years in the Malvern Public Schools as a shop teacher, bus driver and counselor where he retired in 2001. He went on to work part time at College of the Ouachitas where he continued helping students set up for successful futures. His achievements included Southwest District High School Counselor of the Year and Wall of Honor for Malvern School District.
After retiring you could mostly find him riding his Harley, on the Beene farm working with cattle or driving his jet boat at Lake Degray and Lake Catherine. Some of his proudest moments include being a 3-time winner of Smokin in the Cove, achieving the Iron Butt Association Ride Certification and Hot Spring County Farm Family of the Year. He loved being Popeye. You could always count on a joke, prank or interesting (true) story to make you laugh.

Grandchildren Isaac (Abby) Whitley, Mariah (Dakota) Langley, Rose Whitley; Noah, Addison, Kipton, & Lydia Beene, Hayden Woods; Collin & Ashlyn Roberts.
