Robert Ross, 86, of Rockport transitioned into the next life Wednesday, January 8, 2025. He was born March 14, 1938, in Magnet Cove to the late Lula Mabel Conzel Ross and James Alton Ross. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, James Ross, Buddy Ross & Larry Ross; his brothers-in-law, Clint Lunsford & Tom Heard; his sisters-in-law, Katherine Ross & Charlene Ross.
Robert was reared in Magnet Cove paving the path along with his father and brothers as cattlemen. He worked and operated livestock auctions for many years. He also worked for the state of Arkansas vaccinating cattle for Brucellosis when it was mandated. His knowledge was so well known that many Ranchers entrusted him in managing and caring for their livestock. He continued the legacy of being a cattleman up until the last years that he was able. He instilled his legacy and work ethic in many people including his children. He was a very selfless person and had a heart for continuing the cattle & agriculture industry.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggy Hall Ross; his children, Rick (Dana) Ross, Angie Ross & Terrie (Eugene) Clift; his grandchildren, Lenzey (Brett) Crow, Taylor Ross, Mekayla (Ethen) Schultz & Mekenzie Clift; his great grandchildren, Braxton Hall, Mylee Crow & Kylynn Schultz; his siblings, Charles Ross, Mary (Wayne) Nugent & Linda Lunsford; his sisters-in-law, Pat Heard & Reggia Ross; his brother-in-law, Bill (Mary) Hall; many nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday, services to follow at Regency Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Poyner officiating. A private family burial will be at Lone Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Arkansas Hospice for their special gift of caring, especially Dana Crutchfield.
