Obituary

Ronald Calvin Key, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on October 16, 1951, to the late Elgin and Dorothy Key.  He spent his childhood at Magnet Cove Elementary before his family moved to Illinois, and later to Sacramento, California, where he attended Elk Grove High School.  He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Magnet Cove.

He was a daredevil at heart and lived life on the edge.  He had a deep love for Harley Davidsons and Corvettes.  Ron spent 40 years as a truck driver – 30 of those years with Ouachita Gravel in Malvern.  In recent years, he found joy behind the wheel of his Corvette and as a member of the National Park Corvette Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald "Ronnie" Key Jr.; brother, Mike Key; and sisters, Judy Smith and Pam Lee.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Dyann Key; children, Randy Key and wife Amy, Sandy Cagle and husband Nathaniel, Amanda Horton and husband Jordan, and Loretta Key.  His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Skyelar Welch, Briyn Cagle, Adeline Horton, Kendra Cowger, Isabella Key, Elijah Key, and Freeda Fretschel.

Ron will be remembered for his smile, his laughter, and his humor.  He lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind stories that will be told for generations.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 2:00 PM at Regency Funeral Home with Bro. John Elstrod officiating.
