Virgil Ronald Weems, age 70, of Traskwood, AR, gained his heavenly reward on October 28, 2023. He was born on March 30, 1953, in Traskwood, AR, the son of Virgil F. and Ruthilea Weems. He left this earth surrounded by his wife of 47.5 years, whom he affectionately called June bug, and other family members at bedside, as he joined Jesus and departed family members at heaven's gate. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Ronald enjoyed discussing the bible, playing family games, and grilling for the entire family. Other activities he enjoyed included fishing, hunting, practicing shooting, playing the steel guitar, going on family vacations, and traveling. He also collected coins his entire life and displayed his collection proudly.

He graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1972, then went on to gain his certificate from OTC in electrical work. He then attended a Biblical course with his brother in-law and became a reverend, he used his knowledge to teach and spread the Word of God. He went on to retire, after 30 years, from Alcoa/Almatis as a ball-former operator, where he worked with many friends and family.

Virgil is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Virgil F. and Ruthilea Weems; grandparents, James and Lulabell Weems, Orvin and Thelma Brewer; father in-law, Eldon Freeman; son in-law, Jerry Gaither; and two grandchildren whom he is enjoying now.

He is survived by his wife, Lanora June Weems; his three treasured daughters, Rhonda Gaither, Jennifer Orr (Philip) and Cindy Buie (David); grandchildren, T.J. Tucker, Dustin Tucker, Allie Tucker, Seth Gaither, Morgan Gaither, Ruthilea Buie, David Buie (Bubby); great-grandson, Jared Tucker; brothers, Eugene Weems (Tina), Paul Weems, Ricky Weems (Toni); sister, Jackie Ulrey (Ray);  mother in-law, Myrtle Freeman, and many other family members.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 17 at 3:00pm, at Francois Cemetery, with Ray Ulrey officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are T.J. Tucker, Dustin Tucker, Seth Gaither, Morgan Gaither, David (Bubby) Buie, and Jared Tucker.
