Rosemary Daniel was joyfully reunited with her Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Her life was marked by resilience, strength, creativity, and a deep love for games, cats, sweets, and the people she held dear.

Born on November 11, 1938, in Paducah, Texas, Rosemary was the eldest daughter of the late Lola Jewel Etter Roark and Teddy Taft Roark. From the very beginning, her life carried a touch of adventure—she was famously recorded as one of the youngest babies to travel by airplane when she and her mother flew to Maryland, where they lived while her father served in the Army Air Corps.

Rosemary excelled in school and had a vibrant, creative spirit. She shined in theater, starring in the TIL Play and earning recognition as a second district actress. She was talented in art and dance, served as president of the FHA Club, and was a voting delegate at the district FHA meeting. She graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1956.

Shortly after graduation, she worked for Carnation Milk Company. In 1958, she married Marion Barrett of Randlett, Oklahoma. Together they welcomed two daughters, Laura Ellen (Davis) and Jodie Elizabeth (Barrett-Haberstroh), who remained among her proudest accomplishments and greatest joys.

Rosemary was a devoted Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a gifted seamstress who lovingly made much of her daughters' clothing—though, as she often joked, it wasn't always appreciated by little girls who wanted Levis. Her eye for beauty and design led her to a role at Bealls as a visual merchandiser, where she created window displays and arranged merchandise throughout the store, taking great pride in her work.

In 1985, Rosemary made the brave decision to begin again. Following her divorce, she enrolled in college and graduated from Vernon College in 1987. She went on to work as a draftsman for Wilson Manufacturing, NATCO, and later Sheppard Air Force Base, where she served in Civil Service until her retirement.

In 2009, Rosemary married the love of her life, Arlie Daniel, and moved to Malvern, Arkansas. Together they shared deep companionship, laughter, and a bond that brought her great happiness in her later years.

Rosemary continued to garden, sew, crochet, and weave baskets—many of which earned awards at the Hot Springs County Fair. She was an active member of Taylor's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she helped sew clothing for families in need at Christmastime.

After Arlie's passing, she moved to Tyler, Texas, to be closer to family. There, she became an active member of the Tyler Newcomers Club, the 42 Club, and the Tyler Lunch Bunch, and even started her own 42 group in her Towne Oaks community. She also brought joy to many through her "I Found a Quilted Heart" creations, placing small handmade hearts around town for others to discover.

Rosemary was a lifelong member of the Christian Science church, faithfully attending services and volunteering in the reading room. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, her love of games, her beautiful craftsmanship, and the grace with which she faced life's challenges. She had a special gift for making others feel welcome and loved.

She is survived by her children, Laura (Lee) Davis of Longview and Jodie Barrett-Haberstroh of Big Sandy; her stepdaughter, Lynn (Tommy) James Johnson of Gainesville; her grandchildren, Carmen (Tyler) Basinger of Tyler, Juliet (Brandon) Cockrell of College Station, and Melissa McCarthy of Longview; and her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Paisley, Grant, and Tripp Basinger, and Naomi and Levi Cockrell, all of whom cherished sharing her love of Rice Krispie treats and strawberry cake. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Roark Stevens of Shiner and Linda Roark Whitaker of Oklahoma City, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Daniel; her stepdaughter, Arlene; and her granddaughter, Abby Lane.

Services will be held Thursday, April 2nd at noon at Taylor's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern, Arkansas, officiated by Brother Jerry Scriggins, with a graveside service under the direction of Regency Funeral Home.

Though she will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing she is at peace, embraced once more in the presence of her Lord.
