Ruby M. Batchelor Carter, 93, of Malvern, passed away peacefully at her home where she had lived for 73 years, surrounded by her loving family on November 9, 2024. She was born December 31, 1930, in Poyen to the late Willie and Vinnie Batchelor.

"Mis Ruby" loved to welcome visitors with one of her famous Ruby Rolls. Steaming hot and dripping with butter, many Malvernites remember her fondly from Jackson's Old Spring House and Huckabee's Market. Her greatest joy was cooking big meals for her family every Sunday and on special occasions.

Endlessly nurturing and eternally optimistic, gardening "kept her busy" and sports kept her going. Her gardens were always filled with breathtaking roses and delicious vegetables, which she shared generously with family and friends. She never missed a Razorbacks game and proudly cheered the Chicago Cubs to their 2016 World Series victory.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Leon Carter; her brothers, Cecil, Howard and J. R. Batchelor; her sisters, Janie Wilson, Esther Earnest and Gracie Martin; and her daughter-in-law, Ina Collie Carter

She is survived by her son, Joseph Alan Carter of Malvern; daughters, Joy Bracy (Terry) of Malvern, Mary Carter of Malvern and Tammy Mabry (Steve) of Dexter; grandchildren, Michael Bracy of Seattle, Keith Bracy of Little Rock, Jason Carter of Glen Rose, Jennifer Morrow (Jon) of Hot Springs, Jessica Stracener (Jacob) of Romance, Jason Collie (Leslie) of Hot Springs, Allison Minton (Bo) of Alexander, Elizabeth Petty (Chris) of Orlando, Matthew Mabry of Fayetteville, Mason Mabry of Denver and Melissa Mabry of Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Andrew and Aidan Rowe, Aubrey and Jaelyn Carter. Ayla and Ellie Minton and Jaida Stracener.

Ruby is excited to join her family in heaven. She was a true jewel and pure love to anyone who met her. She will be held in each of our hearts forever.

Visitation will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 12th at Regency Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Bart Harrington officiating. Burial will follow at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery.
