Rutha Mae Hughes McClard, age 88, of New DeRoche passed away Monday November 27, 2023, at Lake Hamilton Health and Rehab. She was born March 19, 1935, in New DeRoche, the daughter of Fay Roy and Faye Tankersley Hughes. She retired from the Lake DeGray State Park as a housekeeping supervisor. Rutha was a member of the Prairie Bayou Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marlin Dee McClard, daughter, Brenda McClard-Prather, grandson Dusty McClard, brothers, R.J. and Delbert Hughes, sister-in-law Bernice Hughes.

Survivors are her sons, David McClard (Cristy), Mark McClard (Jennifer), daughter-in-law, Paula Cook (Daniel), brother, Shelby Hughes (Mary), sister-in-law, Linda Hughes all of New DeRoche, grandchildren, Chase McClard, Will Williams, Tiffany Whitley (Neil), great-grandchildren, Skylah Davis, Blayden, Isabella, Arielle and Marlee Whitley, special niece, Joyce Morris.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 29, from 1pm until 2pm at the Prairie Bayou Church of Christ with funeral services to begin at 2PM with Elder Kelly Thomas and Jim Gourley officiating.

Burial will follow in Prairie Bayou Cemetery.

The pallbearers are Tony, Brandon, Jerry Hughes, Bruce Thornton, Charlie Morris, and Tyler Thornton.

Honorary Pallbearers are Nephew Bradley Hughes and grandson Chase McClard.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Prairie Bayou Church Youth Fund.
