Sam Gibson Jr., age 80, of Hot Springs, AR, passed away on September 25, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent- Hot Springs. He was born in Columbia, SC, on September 27, 1942.  He worked at a paper mill in Pine Bluff in his younger years and later became a business owner in the Hot Spring area. He also had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. He loved helping others, being with and helping his family. Sam was a founding member of The Glory Barn Church in Hot Springs, AR.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Sammie Augusta Sr., and Blanche Gibson; wife, Joyce Ann Edwards Gibson; and sister, Alice Everage.

Left to cherish in his memory; son, Reggie (Sheila) Gibson of Hot Springs, AR; daughter, Denia Ward of Hot Springs, AR; brother Willliam (WT) Thomas (Ann) Gibson of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Jon (Amber) Gibson , Jesse (Brittany) Gibson, Zach (Jessica) Gibson, Audrey Gibson, Tanner Ward, Garrett Aldridge; great-grandchildren, Kadence, Zander, Madison, Scarlett, Jesse James, Cooper, Sam, Carter, Gabby Gibson and Ace Althoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation from 6-8pm on Friday, September 29th at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am, on Saturday, September 30th at Drake Cemetery - Highway 212 in Star City, AR, with Bro. Jess Gideon officiating.

Pallbearers are his grandsons.
