Sammie Lee "Big Sam" Richardson, 76, of Malvern passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022.  He was born on May 10, 1946, in Amity, AR, the son of the late George Wylie and Minnie Etta Chancellor Richardson.  Sammie worked for Union Pacific Railroads System Tie Gang as a machine operator, but most recently was a fishing guide on Lake DeGray.  He was a member of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church and the Rockport Masonic Lodge #58. He loved hunting and fishing.  Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Roger Richardson, Ralph Richardson, and Harmon Richardson and two sisters, Carolyn Kizziar and Pauline Richardson.

Survivors, wife of 37 years, Katherine Draper Richardson; brother-in-law, Robert Draper (Shirley) of Malvern; sister-in-law, Martha Richardson of Alpine and Heidi Draper of Malvern and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, July 15 from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Services will be Saturday, July 16 at 10:00am at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Rickey Miller and Brother Danny Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Bart Draper, Tony Ivy, Mack Ivy, Chase Ivy, Blaine Tuggle, and Robert Tipton.

Honorary pallbearers will be his hunting and fishing buddies and the Ouachita Volunteer Fire Department.
