Obituary

Sheryl "Sherry" Joan Wylie passed away on April 12, 2025 at 1:16 pm surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 26th, 1954 in Roanoke, Virginia to Lowell and Joan Powell. She was a dedicated wife to her husband, Gene McCormick 'Mac 'Wylie, for 49 years. They shared a love that most people dream of. Mac was her best friend and soul mate. They shared together their little slice of heaven, the farm. She served her community as a home health nurse for over twenty years. She was well loved and respected by all of her patients. She took such good care of her patients but even better care of her family. If you had the pleasure of being loved by Sherry, then you know she loved well and hard. Everyone was special to her, blood or not. She was always ready to lend a listening ear and if you had a problem, she would do everything she could to find a solution.

She was an animal lover. From loving her dogs to naming her cows, if it had four legs, she was loving on it. Except for mice. A tiny mouse would put her up in a chair every time. She was a gift giver. She would give you the best gift that you didn't even know you wanted. She loved life and loved watching her loved ones do all of their favorite activities. From rodeos, baseball, softball, dance, cheer, football, basketball...if you were in an activity, she was your biggest cheerleader. She absolutely loved the beach, but I think her heart was always back home in the mountains of Virginia. She loved celebrations. Whether it was holidays, a birthday, anniversary, or a wedding, she was there. She loved crafts and anything with a bling. The more glitter and sparkles, the better. She's leaving a big hole here on earth and Heaven got that much sweeter the day she arrived.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Lowell Powell. Sisters' Cindy and Heather Powell. Father and Mother-in-law, Gene and Margene Wylie. Sister-in-law, Sheryl Whearty, Brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Karen Wylie, Sister and Brother-in-Law Betty & Garel "Mac" Mckiever. Neice Rachael Dunwoody. Neice Robin Powell.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mac of Tulip. Her step daughter, Ashley Wylie of Carthage. Her mom, Joan Powell of Little Rock. Her brother Vince Powell (Karen) of Maumelle. Her sister, Gail Hayden (Kyle) of Fayetteville. Her brother-in-law, Bill Whearty of Missouri. Several Nieces and Nephews and great Nieces and Nephews: Bret McKiever (Alidya, Mayson, and Carson), Stacy McKiever Janes (Brandon, Braylee, Bryndle, Tori, Saylor & Breannah), Adam Whearty (Lori, Alex, and Abby), Seth Wylie, Paxton Wylie, Jordan Powell (Erin and Everette), Madeline Haydon (Jon, Kyle, Ryder, and Eleanor), Tyler Powell, Melanie Hayden, Mckenzie Hayden. Her bonus son Daryl Smith (Kristal) and their children Will (Chloe) and Nick. Her other bonus son JP Golding (Dede) and his stepson, Colby.
