Smitty Lee Lackey, 78, of Malvern, AR passed peacefully on Tuesday afternoon November 12th, 2024. He was born on August 19th, 1946, in Malvern, AR. Smitty was the son of H.J. (Junior) and Hazel Lackey and Geneva Nutt Lackey, who passed when he was 8 years old. He was brought up of Pentecostal faith and was a member of the North Malvern Assembly of God Church.  He worked his youth in Malvern at Sandy's Bar-b-Que for his late uncle Norman Lackey, until he began working at Hoover Universal that was later known as Precision Industries. After leaving factory work, he was the owner/operator of Smitty's Cricket Farm until his illness came on. When not piddling around on his farm, he loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 50 years, Marsha Collie Lackey; Children, Monica Yarbrough (Tracy) of Malvern, Belinda Glenn (Jon) of Jackson, Missouri. Sisters, Lola Young (Gary) of Lawton, OK, Janice Wisdom (Clyde) of Sikeston, Mo and Rachel Owen (John) of Sikeston, MO. Grandchildren, Lyndsey Laster (Jeremy) of Prattsville, AR, Asa Riggan of Bryant, AR, Jarrett and Jace Glenn of Jackson, Mo and Summer Edwards of Sikeston, MO. Great Grandchildren, Maverick Riggan, Wyatt Laster and Addyson Laster. He was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 16, 2024, in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm, with the visitation at 1PM prior to the service. Burial will be at the Rockport Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Eric Slaughter, Grant Atchley, Kenny Mason, Parker Hunter, Brent Walker, Justin Riley, Brad Stumon.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr Bruce White, Johnny Ashcraft, Jeremy Edwards, Lynn Rucker.

The family would like to thank the many Doctors, nurses and as he referred to them, his wealthy friends with PHd's for taking such wonderful care of him. We would also like to thank the staff of the Fresenius Dialysis Center in Cape Girardeau, MO for the care they took with his weekly treatments.
