Stephen Wayne Whitmire Sr., age 66, of Malvern, AR, passed away December 24, 2023, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. He was born to Lois Allen McGuire and William 'Buck' Whitmire on October 12, 1957, in Beaumont, TX,  and was raised by his father and bonus mother Gloria Whitmore. He graduated from Vidor High School, a Naval Veteran, later attended vocational college, and became a pipe fitter. He enjoyed playing golf, barbequing, occasionally liked going to the horse races and casinos, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by many.

Stephen is preceded in death by father, William 'Buck' Whitmire; sister, Samantha Kay Whitmire Marcione; brother, William Allen 'Billy' Whitmire Jr.; brother in-law, Johnny L. Placker; nephews, Cereus Joe Placker and Phillip Jordan Crisman.

Left to cherish in his memory, both mothers: Lois Allen McGuire of Nacogdoches, TX and Gloria Whitmire of Vidor, TX; son, Stephen Wayne Whitmire Jr. of Malvern; daughters, Laci Whitmire and Staci Winberry of Malvern; brothers, Harold 'Roy' Whitmire, David Whitmire (Felisha), John Whitmire, all of Vidor, TX, Gary McGuire (Trish) of Pheonix, AZ, James McGuire (Tausha) of Nacogdoches, TX, and Grady McGuire (Kim) of Maryland; sisters, Donna Whitmire Placker of Malvern, Christian Whitmire and Eva Pillows (Trent) of Vidor, TX; six grandchildren; and thirty-five nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on March 8th at 1pm, at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery. (1501 Maryland Ave. North Little Rock, AR 72120)
