Vera A. (Porter) Webb, age 90, passed away on January 4, 2025, in Bryant, AR. She was born on February 23, 1934 in Malvern, AR, the daughter of Henry and Erma Magnolia Davis Porter.

Having been born deaf, Vera was sent to Arkansas School for the Deaf at the age of 9, to learn sign language and life skills. She lived there until the age of 14. An interest in the beauty field had her learning at a beauty school when she won Miss Hot Spring County at age 18 in 1952. Being deaf, she thought she was 3rd because they called the 2nd runner up, the 1st runner up and then the winner. She married soon after winning the title. After 50 years the family realized she thought she was 3rd her whole life and explained it. She said she would not have gotten married if she knew. But glad she did because of her kids…

Vera loved Jesus with a childlike faith that ensures St. Peter had the gates open for her and she didn't even have to knock. Vera bowled in the Deaf Bowling League for several years and the many trophies she won were doorstops in her home. An excellent seamstress, Vera sewed clothes for her kids and also worked in that field at the VA hospital until she retired. Getting a cochlear implant at about age 75 opened her horizons, and the first song she wanted to sing was "Jesus Loves Me". She will be missed by her family, but she can hear heavenly music, sing and dance, and is young and beautiful again.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, and stepfather Homer Myers; daughter Donna Kaye (Cunningham) Crazy Bear, and her son Brent Dewayne Cunningham.

Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 29 "wonderful" years, Coleman L. Webb of Alexander, AR; his son "Duce" Coleman L. Webb II of Oklahoma; her daughters, Tiffany Jean (Cunningham) Barbee of Alexander, AR and Patsy Karen Cunningham of St. Louis, MO; half-sister, Linda Myers Horton of Hot Springs, AR; granddaughter, Laura Jean VoTruba of Washington, D.C; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8th, at 2pm at Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service starting at 3pm. Burial to follow at Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery.
