Verna Parish, age 82, of Saginaw, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in her home. She was born on February 15, 1942 in Mineral Wells, TX, the daughter of William and Beatrice Wheeler Nicks. Verna worked at Hoover Die Casting as a machinist for 28 years, then went on to work and manage the Pines Assisted Living for 6 years, and then was the cafeteria supervisor of Ouachita High School. She was a member of Saginaw Missionary Baptist Church where she was the treasurer, and during the summers she was the head cook at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Camp. Verna loved her family dearly, loved genealogy, crafting, and cooking.

Verna is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Pauline Nicks, June Lee, Harold and Larry Nicks, and Paula Wade; and grand-daughter, Kristi.

Left to cherish her memory, loving husband of 67 years, Hubert Parish; sons, Donny Parish (Sara), David Parish (Gina), and Darren Parish (Sheri) all of Midway; grandchildren, Michelle Riggan (Blake), Melissa Ramsey (Jason), Cody Parish (Darcy), Cortney Bryant (Joe), and Brooke Parish (fiancé Johnny); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jace, Blakelyn, Brielle, J.D, Weston, Emerlee, Kade, Kipton, and Hadley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 21st from 1-2pm at Saginaw Missionary Baptist Church, with the funeral service starting at 2pm, with Bro Alan Cansler, and Bro. Chris Morrison officiating. Burial to follow at Ouachita Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joe Bryant, Cody Parish, Blake Riggan, Joey Nicks, Jason Ramsey, and Jace Ramsey.

Honorary pallbearers are J.D, Weston, Kade, and Kipton.
