Violet M. Lockhart Townsend, 90, of Malvern and former resident of New Lenox, Illinois passed away on October 12, 2022 at her home.  She was born November 11, 1931, in Joliet, Illinois the daughter of George and Mary Zelesnik Lockhart.  Violet worked at Baptist Health Medical Center as a Pink Lady for many years.  She was a member of Ingalls Park United Methodist Church in Joliet, Illinois and a longtime member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church in Malvern.  Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Townsend; infant son, Gary Townsend; grandson, Brian Smith and siblings, Eddie Lockhart, Eleanor Zelesnik Spencer, Audrey Lockhart Evans and Harold L. Lockhart.

Survivors, sons, Larry E. Townsend (Dusty) and Mark A. Townsend; daughters, Penny A. Johnson (Jed) and Gloria E. Smith; grandchildren, Alex, Annette, Barbara, Lance, Reed, Marie, Miranda, Mariah, Michael, Brittany, Nicholas, Daniel and Treva; sixteen great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Mary Townsend Huesner.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18 from 12:00-4:00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in New Lenox, Illinois.
