The Razorback Nation lost a loyal and faithful fan. Virginia Adene Gray, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was born in Malvern, AR on February 4, 1928 to the late Thomas Gifford and Dovie Jane (Pilcher) Swain. The family moved to California when she was a young girl and this is where she received her education. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, MaMaw and Nana. Virginia was a Christian and a faithful member of the Tanner Street Church of Christ in Malvern. She loved to grow flowers and work in the yard. She was a great cook and baker. Virginia was the widow of the late Joe W. Gray, to whom she married on March 3, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2009.
Virginia is also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ed Swain; sister, Mildred (Swain) Stater; granddaughter, Rhonda Ball Gray; and bonus son Raymond O'Neal.
Left to cherish her memory, son, Jimmy Gray (Annette) of Malvern; daughter, Carolynn (Gray) Richmond of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Shane Gray (Kathleen), Brady Gray (Angie), Stacie (Gray) Edie (Wade), Dr. David Richmond, Andrea (Richmond) Barnett (Jeff), Dr. Douglas Richmond (Amy); great-grandchildren, Kimber Gray, Karlee Gray, Kinzly Gray, Drake Edie, Koby Edie, Ethan Richmond, Aiden Richmond, Grace Richmond, and Oliver James.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th from 1-2pm with the Funeral Service starting at 2pm, in the Regency Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dan. Henderson officiating. Burial to follow at Social Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her 6 grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Malvern Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and the Malvern Senior Adult Center.
A special thanks from the family goes out to Arbor Oaks administration and nursing staff for their loving care and compassion they showed not only to Virginia, but the family as well.
