Wendell Dean Earnest, 56, of Gifford passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at National Park Medical Center. He was born on April 28, 1965, in Malvern, the son of Willie John and Una Faye Riggan Earnest.  Wendell graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1983.  He was a technician for Centerpoint Energy.  He was a member of Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  Wendell enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his grandkids.  He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Earnest.

Survivors, mother, Una Faye Earnest of Reyburn; wife, Jill Ray Earnest of Gifford; son, Justin Earnest (Tiffany) of Gifford; daughters, Samantha Paige of Gifford and Whitney Earnest of Gifford; brother, Donnie Earnest (Kim) of Glen Rose; sisters, Theresa Whitley (Terry) of Reyburn and Brenda Smith (James) of Reyburn; grandchildren, Hannah, Carlie, Dawson and Jace and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, at 3:00pm at Francois Cemetery with Brother Todd Bray officiating.  Burial will follow at Francois Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Riggan, Carthel Jones, Michael Earnest, Dylan Ray, Alan Keener and Wayne Thornberry and Walter Parish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reyburn Creek Missionary Baptist Church Youth.
