Obituary

William Carrol Wetherington, (aka: "Dumplin", "Cotton mouth"), age 83, died March 10, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loving family in Malvern, AR. He was born in Arkadelphia, AR on April 15, 1941, to the late Charlie & Beulah Mae (Channell) Wetherington.

Carrol got his GED at the age of 60. He was a Master Electrician. He served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Cooper Assembly of God Church and currently was a member of North Malvern Assembly of God Church. He also served as Sunday school teacher at First Assembly of God in Malvern.

Carrol enjoyed camping, fishing, and fox hunting. He loved being outdoors with a cup of coffee. He took great pride in keeping his yard mowed & neat. He always had a new joke to share with anyone who would listen. His favorite being, "Guess what ?...Chicken squat!"

Carrol is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Joyce (Bowen) Wetherington. He was the father of 3 daughters, Karen Jeffers (David), Patty Stewart (Billy), and Debbie Thacker (Allen). He was loved as "Pawpaw" by his 8 Grandchildren; Jonathan Jeffers, Sarah Jeffers, James (Holly) Branch, Felicia (Kashif) Manuel, Chase (Krista) Joyner, Stacey (Colton) Holley, Mikel (Ashley) Thacker, and Laura (Dalton) Acuff. He was known as "GPaw" to Makia, Malachi, Dreyzin, Kailee, Kyler, Keegan, and Ashanti. And "Great PawPaw" to Noah, Lane (soon to arrive), Emryn, and Leightyn.  His siblings, George Wetherington, Iva Lee Hartwick, and R. C. (Jenny) Wetherington. Many Nieces and Nephews. "PawPaw" to many children from Mrs. Joyce's Daycare; and a host of friends.

Carrol is preceded in death by his parents and one baby sister.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13th, from 6-8pm at North Malvern Assembly of God Church.

Funeral Service is on Friday, March 14th at 10am at North Malvern Assembly of God, with Rev. Tony Burrow, Rev. Keith Pennington, Rev Roger Wall, and Rev. Jason Franklin officiating.  Burial to follow at Rockport Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons: James, Mikel, Chase, Kashif, Colton, and Dalton. Honorary pallbearers: Grandson Jonathan, Sons-in-law: David, Allen, and Billy.

Memorials may be made to the "Because We Care" Ministry at North Malvern Assembly (411 Fairview St. Malvern, AR 72104).
