Wilma "Granny" Spurlin of Midway was born in 1921 on March 9 to Arthur and Florence Parish. Her spirit went to be with her Savior early Saturday morning January 7.
Her precious family that died before her were husband Oather "Red" Spurlin, sisters, Ethlene Parish Lane, Dessie Eudy, Lorene Hughes.
And the ones left behind are son Raymond and wife Sandra of Midway, brothers I.J. Parish, R.C. "Buck" Parish, Hubert Parish, sisters, Ola Faye Lane and Opal Hughes all of Saginaw, Betty Jo Hughes of New De Roche
Grandchildren are Kendall Spurlin and wife Natalie of Hot Springs and Kevin Spurlin and wife Kandy of Poyen.
She was blessed and thankful for her five great grandchildren that she loved dearly: Dylan and Olivia Spurlin, Nick Spurlin, Chase and Kelsi Willingham.
The Funeral service was held at Midway Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Monday, January 9; what a blessing to have such a loving and vibrant church. Regency we thank you for the love, respect and service given to our family through this time of great loss.
The Spurlin family also gives a very big heart felt Thank You to Debbie Shamhart of Midway, and for two very special people from Home Health for their patience, kindness, friendship and love. Brenda and Beth we could not have made it without you.
Most of all we thank and praise our great God and Savior for the long life she was blessed to experience. Her long life left us with these precious memories: fried pies, warm house, big Sunday dinners, superstitions, "Well it don't matter", patience, trips to the pond, dill pickles, front porch, wouldn't drive, homemaker and memory like and elephant.
Granny impressed us all because she fulfilled this verse, Philippians 2:3.
